Day 2: Goals and Progress

 Goals for today:

1. Hour 1: Take notes on some of the theoretical works I've chosen for chapter 3 (Orientalism, Sinography, travel writing).

2. Hour 2: Write min 250 words for any part of Chapter 3 apart from goal 1.

3. Hour 3: Write min 250 words for any part for article.

Progress:

1. I was able to take notes and pull certain quotes regarding the topic of Orientalism and certain debates surrounding it. I hope to continue this tomorrow as well as I keep finding interesting takes on it especially related to Spanish literature and travel narratives. I probably will not move on to Sinography until Friday. 

2. I revisited my longer primary material and extracted quotes and descriptions that I need for one of my analysis for chapter 3. I think I will continue to do this tomorrow as well because the novel is filled with travel impressions on China, which is one of the sub-topics of the chapter, and I would rather have everything on the chapter document instead of constantly reopening the novel on my computer.

3. I have written 380 words for my article, which I am quite happy about.
